52:35Now PlayingThe Supreme Court ruled today that it is unconstitutional to consider race when admitting students to a university. The decision that strikes down affirmative action has been deemed unconstitutional and will eliminate the ability for elite schools to consider race during the admissions process. The 6-3 decision will force schools to rework admissions criteria. “For too long,” Supreme Court Justice John Roberts wrote in the opinion, that universities “have concluded, wrongly, that the touchstone of an individual’s identity is not challenges bested, skills built, or lessons learned but the color of their skin. Our constitutional history does not tolerate that choice.” This is a huge decision and comes with political consequences.
