Peltz is pushing the company to allow him some board seats on he can have more control over management — but, so far, no dice.
Both parties — Peltz and Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, are now engaged in an all-out war for the company. Does Peltz have a point? He came forward with a 133 page memo on how to ‘fix’ Disney by diversifying its entertainment content and creating new hits by moving away from sequels and prequels.
Bob Iger hates the idea — and went so far as to enlist the family heirs of Disney to fight back against Peltz’s pressure.
But, the house of Mouse doesn’t have long. If it fails to deliver on its streaming content in a new ‘streaming’ world, and if it’s too afraid to take chances because it’s most focused on being politically correct, then — it risks going the way of Kodak!
Innovation is key. Walt Disney himself would certainly would tell us that.
