8:51Now PlayingCould Whoopi and others at ABC’s The View soon be out of jobs? Here’s the reality: Disney CEO Bob Iger needs to make some tough decisions in order to stabilize the House of Mouse in the months ahead. Disney, owner ABC News which produces ‘The View’, is struggling. Its stock price cut in half in recent years. In order to better compete in a changing media landscape, Disney’s CEO is reportedly looking to shed the company’s linear TV assets—including ABC News which is the producer of the daytime talk ‘The View’. In this segment from The Trish Regan Show, I theorize that no buyer will want to run ABC News with the inflated salaries that talent like Whoopi Goldberg likely commands. As such, a potential buyer will need to be Uber efficient and squeeze as much profitability as its can get out of a ‘dying’ legacy media company. This likely means - smaller wages for many at the company, or the elimination of positions whether they’re under contract or not. Apparently, Whoopi Goldberg is getting touchy about the issue — this after Donald Trump recommended she head to Canada.
