For on the third day the LORD will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people. . . So Moses went down from the mountain to the people and consecrated the people; and they washed their garments.  -Exodus 19:10-14

Without clean garments which symbolized their right standing, the covenant could not have been established.

Exodus 28:41-43 (NKJV)

41 So you shall put them on Aaron your brother and on his sons with him. You shall anoint them, consecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may minister to Me as priests. 42 And you shall make for them linen trousers to cover their nakedness; they shall reach from the waist to the thighs. 43 They shall be on Aaron and on his sons when they come into the tabernacle of meeting, or when they come near the altar to minister in the holy place, that they do not incur iniquity and die. It shall be a statute forever to him and his descendants after him.

Without consecrated clothing (Exodus 29:21; Leviticus 8:30)

Exodus 29:21 (NKJV)

21 And you shall take some of the blood that is on the altar, and some of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it on Aaron and on his garments, on his sons and on the garments of his sons with him; and he and his garments shall be hallowed, and his sons and his sons’ garments with him.

or without clean clothing (Numbers 19:7).

Numbers 19:17 (NKJV)

17 ‘And for an unclean person they shall take some of the ashes of the heifer burnt for purification from sin, and running water shall be put on them in a vessel.

Revelation 19:8

And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
