After Crime Watch Daily and WPIX's Mary Murphy did a story on the murder of Chanel Petro Nixon, a woman suggested that Murphy investigate Thomas' murder, as it had parallels to the murder of Nixon. Veron Primus had been charged with Nixon's murder. After a DNA reprocessing, Govan was found linked to Thomas' murder.
