UPDATE AUGUST 2021: Heather Mack expects to be released from a Bali prison in October 2021, three years early based on good-behavior credits, her attorney Vanessa Favia said Tuesday, the Chicago Tribune reports. Favia said Mack will be deported upon release.
Mack's attorney in Indonesia, Yulius Benyamin Seran, said, “The process of law is final and binding [in Indonesia]. She realizes she never did something wrong in America,” the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
