YouTube Description
as posted by the channelIn this episode of Crime Watch Daily Updates: Amanda Jones was about to become a mother of two when she went missing in August 2005. She had a 4-year-old daughter and was 8 ½ months pregnant with a baby boy she named Hayden and couldn’t wait to meet.
Amanda was well-known in her small town of Festus, Missouri, and her sudden disappearance shocked the whole area. On August 14, 2005, Amanda went to church, then met up with Bryan Westfall, the alleged father of baby Hayden.
When Bryan found out Amanda was expecting their child, he allegedly did not want her to go through with the pregnancy. He also did not think the child was his.
Amanda, however, disagreed and said she would raise their son. Before her due date, she reached out to Bryan to see if he’d want to play a role in her son’s life. He agreed to meet up with her, but that’s the last time anyone saw her.
Amanda never came home, and her family grew worried, especially after they found her car still parked in a local parking lot. Bryan told detectives that he and Amanda spoke, and he later saw her sitting in her car talking on her phone.
Sixteen years later, investigators from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department were reportedly closing in on charges against Bryan in connection with Amanda’s disappearance. But the case would never come to fruition because in December 2021, he suffered a stroke and died.
Amanda’s family filed a wrongful death suit against Bryan, but a judge dismissed the case in September 2022. Amanda still has never been found.
Let’s look back at the case of an expecting mother and the ongoing mystery surrounding her disappearance.
