Dashcam video of a Scotch Plains police officer trying to use her badge to get out of a DWI arrest last August is all over headlines. The video shows Stephanie Roggina swerving along the road before being pulled over in Readington, NJ.
The Trentonian found out about Roggina's arrest because it was public record and saw that there was dashcam video of the incident. The newspaper sued the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office to get access to the video, which took almost a year.
Retired NYPD sergeant Joe Giacalone joined Chasing News via Skype to talk about officers flashing their badges to try to get out of trouble.
