Morgan Zegers is joined by co-host Connor Clegg to discuss Hamilton's "The Powers Necessary to the Common Defense Further Considered." Federalist Paper No. 24 directly argues against the anti-federalists, who feared the federal government would have too much power, inevitably turning against their own people.

In particular, the anti-federalist's main concern was the federalist's desire for a large standing army. While the federalists felt this would be necessary to ensure defense from foreign invaders, the anti-federalists feared oppressive centralized power.

Join Morgan Zegers weekly on Freedom Papers for a conversation that focuses on the necessity of America's most important manuscripts and the debates surrounding them!
