as posted by the channelIn May Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was moved from his General Regime facility at the Pokrov Correctional Colony near Moscow to the Special Regime facility at Melekhovo, more than 200km east of the Russian capital. In Melekhovo Navalny is regularly punished for behavior and discipline infractions, for instance failing to button the top of his collar, or incorrectly addressing a guard by the wrong title or name. Each infraction sees the opposition leader sent to solitary confinement for a maximum of 15 days, and after regaining his relative freedom he is again charged and punished with disciplinary infractions and sent right back into the hole. Navalny’s latest struggle is for winter boots, a necessity he says, when his only outdoor exercise takes place in a cold and dark concrete yard covered in ice.
