Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway, or State Route 126, was closed in both directions after a crash Tuesday evening.
It happened around 5:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes, but the highway was completely closed between Hamilton Avenue and Winton Road. Four vehicles were involved.
Those who called 911 after the crash told dispatchers they witnessed a driver crossing a median and hitting a car head-on, causing a chain reaction.
Police say after two people were cut from cars, one person was flown to an area hospital with serious injuries. Three more adults as well as an infant were hospitalized, authorities said, and were transported by ambulance.
The highway reopened around 9 p.m.
