Cowan discussed how the campaign of 1912 changed presidential politics forever, with reverberations that are still being felt today. Dubbed by ABC News as “the man who did more to change Democratic Conventions than anyone since Andrew Jackson,” he also discussed his own impact on how we choose our president. As both an historian and participant, he is no stranger to tumultuous party politics, and shed valuable light on the 2016 campaign season.
