As Executive Director of National Center for Transgender Equality, she is a strong voice on Capitol Hill and across the country for transgender equality. As an advocate, Keisling works to raise public awareness of transgender issues, and to establish legal and policy priorities within the transgender movement. In this event, Keisling addressed challenges facing the transgender community ranging from misunderstanding and discrimination, to violence, and discussed how political activism can affect social and legislative change, and what hurdles the transgender movement is facing.
