as posted by the channel

Please join the IOP in welcoming former Speaker of the House John Boehner for a discussion about his upcoming memoir, On the House, a searing recollection of his political career that already has Washington atwitter. Boehner, who represented Ohio’s 8th district in Congress from 1991to 2015, served as Speaker for almost 5 years during the Obama administration. The Speaker's candid and colorful account covers what he refers to as the “the crazy caucus of the GOP,” taking readers through the rise of far right media (as a longtime friend of Fox News head Roger Ailes), the red wave that was the 2010 midterm elections, and his approach to leadership: “Get the right people on the bus, and help them find the right seat.”

Tim Alberta, former IOP Pritzker Fellow and staff writer at The Atlantic, will moderate this discussion. Tim is the author of American Carnage: On the Front Lines of the Republican Civil War and the Rise of President Trump.
