Jonathan Vanderhagen illegally prosecuted for criticising Judge Rachel Rancilio

Following two weeks behind bars, Jonathan Vanderhagen will depart the Macomb County Jail a free man following a jury immediately found him not guilty Thursday of a misdemeanor registered following criticism he left on Facebook on a county judge and the court .

Even a six-member District Court jury found the 35-year-old Chesterfield township person not guilty of malicious usage of telecommunications providers following a trial which lasted three times.

"I believe they found through this circumstance. I believe what they watched the prosecution doth rip that guy was incorrect," explained Vanderhagen's lawyer, Nicholas Somberg. Back in"And I requested in my final to send out a message instead of only return not guilty, but to return with a fast not conducive to the prosecutor would understand what they did this guy was incorrect."

Circuit Court Judge Rachel Rancilio registered a sheriff's office report from July about Facebook articles by Vanderhagen she discovered troubling. He had been billed days afterwards and published $1,000 to get a bond using a no-contact condition.

However on July 24, Vanderhagen was detained on $500,000 cash surety bond once 41-B District Court Judge Sebastian Lucido determined that Vanderhagen breached the no-contact state by continuing to post on Facebook. Somberg claimed Vanderhagen submitted about the courtroom and also his son Killian, who died in 2017 prior to his next birthday, not around Rancilio.

Vanderhagen needed his palms together, as in prayer, since the jury forewoman read that the not guilty verdict. There were four girls and 2 men on the jury. Somberg stated the verdict came under 27 minutes after the jury left the court to start deliberations.

Vanderhagen's mom, Deborah, stated that she had been pleased with the verdict, which came less than a week following her son declined a plea bargain to a lesser crime and charge for time served in prison.

"Hern seems to be guilty. He did nothing wrong," she stated, adding that the son was hoping to do so for the dads and kids who"were hurt in this system" "This was not only for Killian, it was for most of children and dads who've been done "

Vanderhagenrn registered a custody situation in 2017 at Circuit Court, asserting the mother was unfit. The situation was assigned into Rancilio, however, she insisted that she heard the circumstance, that was managed by a Friend of the Court referee.

Killian died Sept. 22, 2017, whilst in the care of the mom in Genesee County and also in the middle of the divorce situation. No criminal charges had been filed in the boy's departure.

Vanderhagenrn took the stand at his defense for a few hours Thursday. He said he did not threaten injury to Rancilio together with his articles, even those who dealt with their loved ones straight. He said that he"did not ever think she would observe that things."

Vanderhagen's lawyer and mother explained his following steps have been a hot bath, a fantastic dinner, a smoke, spending some time with family members and reflecting over the previous two weeks in prison.

"I believe that Jonathan must keep on talking the truth, I believe he must keep on exploring our elected public officials telling folks what happened to him personally and warning others about the courtroom," Somberg explained.
