A student at Brown university (ostensibly, an ivy league school) was caught for the SECOND TIME violating the school's honor code by cheating on an exam. A repeat offender! The school responded by expelling - no, wait, that is what a normal school would do .... - the school responded by suspending this student for an ENTIRE semester. Wow, I just FEEL the weight of justice on this one.
The student, ever grateful at this completely un-deserved act of mercy and given a third bite at the apple, then proceeded to become a great student, worth of this chance, and became a beacon of importance of honest in both school and in life - no, sorry, wait, again that is what a normal person would do ... - the student responded by SUING THE SCHOOL for the unfair treatment and her overly harsh punishment.
Wow.
In today's case, we learn the story of this Brown graduate (that part is serious, she really does have a brown degree now - what the ....) who perhaps from a somewhat unearned sense of entitlement (understatement), sued her school, and we read the decision of the court, which for some reason is being asked to decide this truly absurd matter.
