as posted by the channelTrent Taylor was arrested and put in jail. The conditions of the jail were ... not hygienic. Taylor was not provided with bathroom facilities (drain in the floor was apparently good enough) or provided water, and when water was available, the source was tainted with human substances that made it not usable. Taylor argues these conditions were a violation of the 8th amendment prohibition on cruel and unusual punishment.
The police, as typical, claim qualified immunity. They argue that the violations alleged here were not well established at the time, and thus they are not liable.
