The taking down of monuments because of ties to the civil war has been controversial in many parts of the United States. Some people note their historical value, including not wishing to whitewash the regrettable parts of history, while others argue against appearing to honor such persons.

Today is one such battle, where a public university wants to remove a monument, and other object. This turned into a dispute in court.

In today's case, we discuss the controversy, discuss standing, and discuss who has the right to object to removal efforts.
