1:22:45Now PlayingRuby Franke, a YouTube vlogger, has been convicted of severe child abuse involving two of her children and received a sentence on Tuesday that could see her serving anywhere from one to 15 years in prison for each of four counts (a total of 4-30 years, capped due to Utah law). The final duration of Franke's incarceration will be determined by the Utah Board of Pardons and Parole.
Franke, alongside Jodi Hildebrandt, her ex-business associate and the founder of Connexions Classroom, entered guilty pleas to four charges of child abuse in December at the Washington County 5th District Court in Utah.
Following Franke's sentencing, Hildebrandt also received a similar punishment, with four consecutive sentences ranging from one to 15 years.
As part of their plea deals, both Franke and Hildebrandt acknowledged that they had caused or permitted another adult to cause significant physical harm to Franke's children during the period from May to August 2023.
