as posted by the channelSigil magic is a commonly used technique by practicing witches and occultists to manifest a desired outcome in their real life. through creating a personal symbol based on the expression of that desire...of course this is known as the "law of attraction" by the now popular New Age movement. But we know this is opening gateways to gain power; allowing demonic possession at its most dire outcome. or at the very least it's idolizing, ritualistic nature is only useful for selfish means and gaining worldly possessions.
With an intent embedded into the symbol it's believed that the sigil can send the same intent/manipulation to others, but is essentially powerless when revealed for what it is.
However, due to the highly personal and fluid nature of each symbol it's highly unlikely one could ever decipher a sigil, other than it's creator. Perhaps this is what makes them so powerful.
