15:09Now PlayingThis video (produced by the Executive Office for United States Attorneys) is shown at Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) focused deterrence violence reduction notification sessions, where felons on probation or post-release with a criminal history involving violence or firearms, are informed of consequences of future violent acts and offered assistance to live a lawful lifestyle. By simultaneously concentrating enforcement and rehabilitation efforts on the small percentage of people who commit the majority of violent crimes, we are focusing and directing our resources where we can get the biggest bang for the buck. In the video “Choices,” qualified probationers are given clear options to choose from: death, prison, or the community. They are shown the results of violence on themselves and their families, victims and their families, and the community. The goal is to deter felons from future involvement with illegal firearms and violence by urging them to make the right choice.
