In this Sunday’s Gospel, Bishop Keehner invites us to consider not only physical blindness, but also the spiritual blindness that can keep us from seeing our faults, our need for mercy, and the dignity of others made in the image of God. Lent is a time to examine our hearts, seek forgiveness, and turn back to the Lord.
As the Lenten season moves quickly toward Easter, we are invited to ask for the grace to see with eyes of faith, to receive God’s mercy, and to follow the hand he extends to lead us into new life.
