2:03Now PlayingMost Rev. Thomas Wenski, Archbishop of Miami, reflects on the Feast of the Transfiguration and the Gospel account of Jesus on Mount Tabor. The Transfiguration reveals who Christ is and points toward His death and resurrection in Jerusalem.
Television makeovers go about as deep as a new haircut and new clothes, and it is never really clear whether they reveal the person or hide them. What happens on Mount Tabor is not that. The change in Jesus comes from within, and it answers the question of who He actually is. "This is my beloved Son. Listen to Him." Mount Tabor is a stop along the road to Jerusalem, and Moses and Elijah stand there because everything spoken and written before them was preparation for this.
