They discussed security and political conditions, efforts to counter the Islamic State, the militarization of the society, programming gaps, and the challenges that lie ahead.
The discussion looked beyond the immediate humanitarian crisis to focus on the effects of the protracted and ongoing displacements of some two million Iraqis, including many minorities: the need for community stabilization and socio-economic inclusion of internally displaced people, returnees, host community concerns, and revenge and reconciliation.
