Since 2016, USIP has convened youth leaders from conflict-afflicted regions for an annual engagement with His Holiness the Dalai Lama. After two years of virtual meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic, USIP and His Holiness the Dalai Lama returned to holding an in-person dialogue in Dharamsala with 28 youth peacebuilders from 13 countries.
Over this two-day event, the youth leaders shared their experiences and challenges building peace in their communities and hear from His Holiness, who reflected on their struggles against violence, prejudice and extremism while providing inspiration to help these leaders maintain inner strength in their pursuit of peace amid violent conflict in their countries.
