1:14Now PlayingDairo Antonio Úsuga, aka "Otoniel," was extradited from Bogota, Colombia, to the Southern District of New York May 4, 2022. The U.S. Marshals Service Special Operations Group conducted the transport as soon as he landed in S/NY and continued on with the processing and security of the move. Úsuga pleaded guilty Jan. 25, 2023, to running a continuing criminal enterprise -the Colombian paramilitary and multibillion dollar drug organization known as the "Clan del Golfo" and to related drug distribution charges. Úsuga was sentenced Aug. 8 to a mandatory minimum term of 20 years in prison and up to life in prison. As part of the plea agreement, Úsuga also agreed to pay a $216 million forfeiture money judgment.
