But we rarely stop to ask what nihilism actually is, or give a detailed analysis of its properties. And this is a shame because it prevents us having clear and precise conversations about what is perhaps one of the most important philosophical issues of the past 200 years. So today we are going to try to specify the idea of nihilism. It may not be a perfect system, but I am hoping it will bring some clarity to this often nebulous philosophy.
