Al Sanders is a longtime King County employee, who deals with real-life government issues. He has held his life of fantasy behind closed doors.
But now he's ready to turn the page. For a good cause.
He's a comic book collector. We're talking really old comic books, the youngest of which was purchased in 1990.
Sanders said he's began collecting comics when he was in grade school and added to his collection all the way through college. He even sold plasma to buy them.
Then he got married and moved in with his wife. She told him, "Your Sports Illustrateds need to go, but the comics can stay."
The collection, which includes older X-Men and Batman comics, grew close to 5,000 books.
Then he met a new star with superpowers: His daughter.
