More than 20 years ago, Florida’s Miami Dade County created a new kind of youth offender program with unprecedented success. Only 11% of the convicted felons who graduate from the county’s world renowned Boot Camp Program will end up back behind bars, in contrast to the 75% of inmates in the United States that will return after release within three years.
Those who graduate earn will their freedom - but the journey to earn that redemption will be the hardest they ever take.
