The CARE (Community Action Relief Effort) Bags program, which officially launches Monday in IMPD's East District, is a joint project of Indianapolis public safety agencies and Gleaners Food Bank.
It is one of several ideas developed during an event last year organized by IndyStar as part of its Our Children initiative, IU Health and Gleaners and led by Simpler Consulting. Leaders in the fields of public health, education and food relief came together to discuss ways to fight childhood hunger in Indianapolis.
