It is the second straight year Finland has taken the number one spot on the annual report. The organization bases the list on several aspects, including income and life expectancy. Coming in second place was Denmark. Finland's close neighbor Norway took the third place spot. Rounding out the top five is Iceland in fourth. Followed by the Netherlands. On the flip side, the list ranked South Sudan as the least happiest nation. In second-to-last is the Central African Republic. How does America fare in terms of happiness?. Rankings for 2019 peg the U.S. at nineteenth. In 2018, the USA was in the eighteenth spot.
