RELATED10 ways to prevent identity theft while traveling
1. Clean the Remote. While used by most guests, the remote probably hasn't been cleaned recently. Give it a quick wipe down.
2. Be Wary of Drinking Glasses. In hotels without restaurants, drinking glasses may (or may not) be washed by hand. It doesn't hurt to give them a rinse yourself.
3. Keep Your Luggage off the Bed. If the bed has bed bugs, they could migrate via your luggage to your home. Bed bugs can happen anywhere, regardless of hotel rating.
4. Bring Long Cables or a Travel Power Strip. We have more devices that need charging than ever, but the number of hotel room outlets hasn't increased. A power strip will make your stay that much simpler.
5. Consider a Hostel. Staying in a hostel can be a great way to save hundreds of dollars on travel.
