21:53Now PlayingFourth & Goal, an IndyStar documentary, tells the story of a youth football team's triumphs and pain. Coach Donnell Hamilton started the Indy Steelers youth football team 15 years ago with one goal: Mute the echoes of gun violence so children can learn a better way.
The 22-minute award winning film chronicles the Indy Steelers football team, a group of kids led by Coach Donnell Hamilton who practice at Tarkington Park in Indianapolis, Indiana where gun violence is an all too common occurrence. The games offer fun, family and a support system for young players whose lives have been affected by gun violence, addiction and hunger.
For nearly two years, IndyStar photojournalist Mykal McEldowney and columnist Suzette Hackney, embedded themselves in the lives of these players and their families at practices and games; inside their homes; at funerals; and at birthday parties and cookouts.
