6:23Now PlayingUkrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President Donald Trump are set to meet on Dec. 28, according to Zelenskyy. The meeting, which will reportedly take place at Trump's Mar-a-lago resort, comes after a rollercoaster year of negotiations to end the Ukraine-Russia war, which began in early 2022.
The meeting also comes on the heels of Zelenskyy unveiling a new 20-point peace plan on Dec. 24. The framework modified provisions – such as one that would've shrunk Ukraine's military – in an earlier U.S. peace agreement draft widely panned as being skewed in favor of Russia. The potential peace deal was developed in consultation with the U.S., still faces some major hurdles before it is formally presented to Russia.
