18:45Now PlayingAttorney General Pam Bondi was the subject of a Congressional hearing before the House Judiciary Committee.
Opening statements by House Judiciary Committee chair Jim Jordan and ranking member Jamie Raskin initiated the hearing. Jordan praised the Department of Justice for returning to what he described as their "core missions," citing a lower national murder rate as well as the capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro. Raskin took a different view, accusing the DOJ of being "corrupt." He cited prosecutors leaving the department, the handling of the release of Epstein files, and investigations into DHS and ICE shootings in Minneapolis.
