40:43Now PlayingCongress split Thursday on whether to tell President Donald Trump to withdraw troops from Iran, as the war escalated into the Red Sea and the president threatened greater harm to Iran if maritime hostilities continue.
The House of Representatives voted to end the war 214-208, with four Republicans joining Democrats to rebuke the White House. The Senate then voted down a measure that would have directed the president to end the war in Iran, with the measure failing 49-47.
The measure is largely symbolic but required senators facing re-election Nov. 7 to take a public stance on the war.
