The Lindsay Clancy murder trial enters day 20 of testimony on Tuesday, Aug. 25, as the prosecution examines its last expert witnesses before closing arguments and jury deliberations.
The day is expected to begin with continued testimony from Dr. Keil Heilbrun, a clinical and forensic psychologist retained by the prosecution to examine Clancy for criminal responsibility. On Monday, Heilbrun opined that Clancy was suicidal, not psychotic, and killed the children so they would not suffer in her absence.
Clancy, 36, is charged with three counts of first-degree murder related to the strangling deaths of her children Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months. Clancy acknowledges killing the children in January 2023, but claims she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and was not criminally responsible for her acts.
