0:47Now PlayingLarge balloons carrying sewage and trash from North Korea have been spotted across South Korea on Saturday, following an initial wave of similar balloons sent last Tuesday. South Korean military representatives have said that 90 balloons were found to have crossed the border, distributing waste across the country, as they systematically clean up the trash. The recent escalation provokes the longstanding tension between the neighboring countries. Various diplomatic efforts have sought to ease these tensions, including the Sunshine Policy, and the 2018 summit between Kim Jong-Un and President Donald Trump. Despite these efforts, North Korea continues its hostile rhetoric towards South Korea, engages in sophisticated cyberattacks internationally, and is deeply involved in methamphetamine trafficking.
