as posted by the channelMichael Cline, founder of movie ticketing service Fandango, died on Tuesday from an apparent suicide after falling from a 20th-floor balcony at a luxury New York hotel. Cline, 64, was found “unconscious and unresponsive” outside the Kimberly Hotel at 145 East 50th Street in Manhattan, showing injuries “indicative of a fall from an elevated position.” He was pronounced dead at the scene but his identity was not confirmed publicly until Thursday.
An investigation into the circumstances of Cline’s death is ongoing, but medical examiners have ruled it a suicide. Cline is survived by his wife Pamala and their six children.
Cline co-founded Fandango with Art Levitt in 2000 and remained with the company until 2011, at which point ownership went to NBC Universal. At the time of his death, Cline was working as an executive chairman at Juxtapose, a venture capital fund he joined in 2018, per his LinkedIn page.
