as posted by the channelOn the evening of January 29, 2025, a catastrophic midair collision occurred near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington, D.C., when a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter crashed into an American Airlines passenger plane, American Eagle Flight 5342. The flight, operated by PSA Airlines, was carrying 60 passengers and four crew members from Wichita, Kansas, and was preparing to land on Runway 33 when the incident happened around 9 p.m. local time. The Black Hawk involved in the collision was on a training mission from Fort Belvoir, Virginia, with three soldiers on board. All 67 individuals on both aircraft were tragically killed in the crash, which led to the aircraft plummeting into the Potomac River.
