The UN has been criticized for mishandling these crimes, which surfaced in 14 of the then current 16 missions.
Through rape survivors, whistleblowers and experts, we learned how pervasive this issue is and why insiders say that high level individuals at the UN have turned a blind eye. VICE takes a series of allegations to the UN's Under-Secretary-General, and uncovers the truth within the one organization the world has entrusted with impenetrable power.
