7:16Now PlayingOur resident Gen-Z, shit-talking wannabe influencer, Alhan Gençay, loves music but strictly grime. He’s never heard a guitar in his life let alone anything below 140 bpm. But he keeps hearing boomers going on about some group called The Beadles (or something?) from Westminster Abbey – so, before the pandemic, he went on a mission to figure out why people give a sh*t about them.
He dons a St. Pepper’s outfit and heads to Abbey Road for the 50th anniversary of the Fab Four walking across a zebra crossing for the front cover of some album they apparently did. There he speaks to fans who have travelled from all over the world to hang out there and meets Richard Porter, The Beatles Brain of Britain.
Porter takes him on a Beatles tour of London; from Marylebone Station, where they filmed the intro of A Hard Day’s Night, to where they performed their last gig on a roof in 1969 to Camden’s Dublin Castle, where Richard has organised a tribute band to play.
