In the last few decades, a new phenomenon has emerged: megacities. Urban agglomerations with more than 10 million inhabitants. Most of them are emerging in developing countries, where this type of huge cities are growing so frantically and so uncontrollably that they’ve set off many alarms.
Within a few years the largest cities in the world won’t be places like Tokyo, New York or London, but cities like Lagos, Kinshasa and Mumbai. The question is, will these megacities be able to overcome all the challenges they face or will they become victims of poverty, pollution and violence? In this video we give you some clues.
