Huawei, Tik Tok, the trade war. In recent years, political, diplomatic and economic relations between the United States and the People's Republic of China have not been at their best.
And now in addition the Trump Administration, the SEC and the US Senate have decided to launch a campaign to tighten surveillance over Chinese companies listed in the United States.
In fact, on 20 May 2020, the Senate gave the green light to the "Holding Foreign Companies Accountable Act"; a law that could even lead to the expulsion of giants such as Alibaba or Baidu from the US stock markets.
But why is this campaign happening and what exactly is it about? What has caused the White House, the Senate, and the SEC to decide to take action in such a sensitive area as finance? What influence does China really have on world finances?
In this video, we try to answer all these questions and also give you a lot of details about some of the latest cases of big fraud committed by Chinese companies quoted on the US stock exchanges.
