On Sunday, October 25, 2020, in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, Chileans were called to vote in the National Plebiscite of 2020. This referendum was to determine whether or not Chileans wanted a new constitution.
The victory of the ‘yes’ vote was overwhelming. However, does Chile really need a new constitution? Why did the yes vote win? What is the constituent process going to be like from now on? And the most important question of all, what risks does this constitutional revolution pose for Chile, which so far has been the most prosperous and stable country in Latin America?
