Spain is one of the few countries that does not depend on Russia for its gas supply. Spain not only has a very diversified network of suppliers: it also has two gas pipelines connecting it to Algeria. All this gas could be resold to Europe to replace a proportion of Russian imports.
However, relations between Spain and Algeria are at their worst in decades. A series of questionable diplomatic moves have caused Madrid to sacrifice the opportunity of becoming a European natural gas hub.
But what exactly happened and what does Morocco have to do with all this? In this video we tell you.
