Jihadism ravaged Europe with the rise of ISIS and the proclamation of the Islamic State in 2014. 347 people fell victim to jihadist terrorism on the old continent in 2017, the highest numbers since the Madrid bombings in 2004 and the London bombings in 2005.
Europe managed to subdue them, but the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has triggered a radicalisation that is knocking on Europe's door in the form of a second wave of jihadist terrorism. However, a new and elusive actor may derail a new European victory: the "lone wolf".
