#Iran may not have launched any direct wars, but the Revolutionary Guards have helped to sow chaos throughout the region, and it appears that they were in some way behind Hamas' brutal attack on #Israel on 7 October. And that is not all, there is also the issue of the nuclear programme, which is unacceptable because of the risk it would pose to Israel, to the US's own deterrence - which would lose much of its strength - and also because of the risk of nuclear proliferation. Obviously, if Iran gets its hands on the bomb, don't think for a moment that Saudi Arabia, the Emirates or even Turkey will sit idly by. And to top it all off, there is the support for #Russia. Whichever way you look at it, Iran is becoming an increasingly difficult headache for the US to cope with.
