If the freezing / skipping is due to micro-scratches, here is a hack to fix it: Apple a small amount of oil/grease - your forehead has enough - and smear it around the DVD. It will fill in the micro-abrasions just enough so that the eye of the DVD reader will be able to read and play the DVD. Enjoy! And be sure to subscribe! :)
