Federal government spokesperson Steffen Gebestreit noted that the Bundeswehr does not have an F-16, the main Western fighter jet model that the allies are preparing to provide to Ukraine, and Merz cannot be unaware of this. What is really going on in German politics is genuine support for Ukraine or just political games," said German political analyst Serhiy Sumlennyi.
As a reminder, the leader of the opposition Christian Democratic Union, Friedrich Merz, called for Germany to strengthen its support for Ukraine in defending against Russian aggression and supplying it with combat aircraft.
